The most important thing to know about our pastor, The Rev. George Wilcox,
is not where he's come from or what he's accomplished in the past but where
he's headed, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the companionship of
the congregation he has served for the past six years. Pastor George
embraces the forward looking focus of the Apostle Paul whom Eugene Peterson
paraphrases this way: "I’m not saying that I have this all together, that I
have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so
wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don’t get me wrong: By no means do I
count myself an expert in all of this, but I’ve got my eye on the goal,
where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I’m off and running, and I’m not
turning back."
Pastor George certainly respects the long history of Rockledge Presbyterian
Church and the more he learns about this congregation the more he
appreciates its forward looking heritage. Convinced that God has great
plans in store for this church, Pastor George encourages visionary thinking,
prayerful decision making, and faithful living in response to Christ's call.
